Even though we try our best to eat as healthy as possible, these air fryer hot dogs are a treat meal that my family loves to enjoy time and time again. We grab beef hot dogs and brioche buns from our local grocery store and they are super quick to make in your air fryer on busy weekdays, during the summer and every day in between!

Outside of grilling or smoking hot dogs, air frying is one of the best ways to lock in the juices and achieve a nice crispy exterior.

Now, you *can* cook hot dogs in the oven, but honestly by the time the oven is finished preheating you could have been sitting and down and eating these air fryer ones!

Recipe Ingredients

Package of beef hot dogs on a counter with buns near by.
  • Hot dogs – All beef-hot dogs have really amazing flavor and won’t dry out in air fryer like turkey or chicken hot dogs might.
  • Hot dog buns – Brioche hot dog buns are a personal favorite. They are super soft, fluffy and slightly sweet!
  • Toppings – I topped mine with ketchup and plenty of sweet and dill relish. Mustard and chopped white onions are delicious too!

How to Make Beef Hot Dogs in the Air Fryer

Frequently Asked Questions  —

Is it better to air fry or boil hot dogs?

Air fry! Boiled hot dogs aren’t as flavorful or as crisp as an air-fried one.

Do I have to preheat the air fryer first?

Nope! Just put the hot dogs in straight from the package!

How many hot dogs can I cook in the air fryer?

As many as will comfortably fit! I cooked 4 but 6 could easily fit inside of my Ninja Foodi Air fryer. The main thing is to leave a little room around each one so the hot circulating air can crisp up all the edges.
