Why This Recipe is So Good

  • An Arnold Palmer is a non-alcoholic drink that professional golfer Arnold Palmer would enjoy after playing on the course. It’s sweet and refreshing but has a kick of caffeine from the iced tea. Although Palmer preferred 3 parts tea to 1 part lemonade, this drink is usually made half and half, like in this recipe. Either way, you can switch up the ratios according to your liking.
  • Green tea mixed with the lemonade makes the best drink. It’s so simple to make from scratch. The tea is brewed, then combined with sugar and freshly squeezed lemons. Squeezing the lemons with a citrus juicer will be quick and give you the freshest-tasting lemonade.
  • No simple syrup. For this recipe, the sugar is stirred into the warm tea. It’s quicker than making a simple syrup, since the tea needs to cool down anyway.

Notes

How To Store/ Make Ahead

Keep iced tea lemonade covered in the fridge for up to 5 days. Freeze into ice cubes to add to tea or lemonade for the future.

Tips and Tricks

  • Switch up the ratios. Half lemonade and half iced tea is standard but who doesn’t love to mix things up? Use ⅓ lemonade and ⅔ iced tea or the other way around. Since we added the sugar to the sweet tea you might end up with a sweeter or less sweet drink depending on the ratio you chose to go with.
  • More tart or sweet? Add more lemon juice if you want a more tart drink or add more sugar if you want it sweeter.
  • Make a Winnie Palmer. This drink is named after Arnold Palmer’s first wife Winnie. It’s a mix of sweetened iced tea and lemonade. Make a simple syrup to add to the lemonade then mix in sugar in the hot tea. Allow everything to cool then mix together to serve over ice.
