Why This Recipe is So Good

  • Making your own frozen yogurt at home is super easy if you have a Ninja Creami ice cream machine. All the ingredients are added to a blender then the yogurt mixture is frozen in the Ninja Creami pint container then blended into the best mango frozen dessert.
  • Homemade mango frozen yogurt has the best texture. It’s smooth and creamy, not icy, very thick and flavorful. Fresh or frozen mango chunks can be used but there’s nothing like fresh, ripe mango; it takes this recipe to the next level!
  • If you are trying to meet your protein goals or are just craving a sweet, good-for-you treat, this mango frozen yogurt is perfect.

Recipe Ingredients

Mango chunks – Frozen chunks are super convenient to use or you can use fresh, ripe mango for a stronger mango flavor.

Yogurt – I used plain yogurt, but Greek yogurt can be used for a protein boost, or use vanilla flavored yogurt for an extra delicious frozen dessert.

Sugar – Since we are using plain yogurt, a good amount of sugar is needed to give a smooth and scoopable frozen yogurt texture. And since plain yogurt and Greek yogurt can be very sour, extra sugar is needed to make a delicious sweet treat!

How to Make Ninja Creami Mango Frozen Yogurt

All ingredients, measurements, and instructions are in the recipe card at the bottom of this post.

Blend mango into a puree. To a high-speed blender or food processor, add frozen mango chunks, plain yogurt, and sugar. Blend until smooth.

Pour yogurt mixture into the Ninja Creami pint container, making sure it doesn’t go over the max fill line. Top with a lid, then freeze the pint container on a level surface for 22 – 24 hours until frozen solid.

Blend in Ninja Creami. The next day, remove the lid, place the pint container into the Ninja Creami outer bowl, then insert it into the Ninja Creami ice cream machine. Blend on “Lite Ice Cream” setting. Let it run through the cycle. It may look a crumbly at first, try smoothing it out with a spoon, if it isn’t smooth,  respin as needed with a small scoop of yogurt or splash of milk until smooth and creamy.

Scoop and enjoy!

Notes

How To Store/ Make Ahead

  • If you plan to respin your leftover hard frozen yogurt, use a spoon to level it out before refreezing so it doesn’t damage the blades of the Ninja Creami Machine.
  • If your leftover frozen yogurt is too hard, allow it to sit at room temperature for 5 – 10 minutes before enjoying. Or you can “RESPIN” it for a softer consistency. Make sure the frozen yogurt is level before respinning in the machine.

Tips and Tricks

  • Mango chunks: Frozen mango chunks aren’t as sweet as a fresh, ripe mango. So if you are using fresh mango and plain yogurt, start with 4 tablespoons of sugar, taste, then add more sugar if needed.
  • Ninja creami recipes can sometimes look crumbly right after blending. Usually, you can smooth it out with a spoon, and it will be smooth and creamy. If it’s still crumbly, add a small scoop of yogurt or milk to the mixture, then “RESPIN” it until it reaches a smooth and creamy consistency.
  • Yogurt: This recipe uses regular unstrained yogurt, which contains a high amount of water, so more sugar is needed for a soft and smooth frozen yogurt consistency. Greek yogurt is strained, so your frozen yogurt will be creamy regardless, but since it’s so sour, more sugar is needed for a sweet treat. Taste your yogurt mixture before freezing to make sure it tastes just the way you want.
