What makes this recipe so good
- It’s made with 3 ingredients -only peaches, Greek yogurt, and sugar are needed.
- It’s made with real peaches. You can use frozen, thawed peaches or fresh peaches with the skin removed. Because we want this recipe to be as healthy as possible we aren’t using canned peaches in syrup. Instead, real cane sugar or honey is used to sweeten the yogurt. It’s lightly sweetened with a fresher peach flavor as a result!
- It takes just a few minutes to prep. If using thawed peaches – this recipe takes 5 minutes to prep or 15 minutes if using fresh peaches. After waiting 24 hours to freeze, the frozen yogurt takes another 2 minutes to blend using the ninja creami ice cream machine.
Recipe Ingredients
- Peaches – Frozen organic peaches or fresh ripe peaches will give your frozen yogurt the best flavor.
- Yogurt – Greek yogurt or regular yogurt. Use plain or vanilla flavored.
- Sugar – I used cane sugar but honey can be used for a slightly healthier choice. Start with a few tablespoons then taste the sweetness level of your yogurt before adding in more.
How to Make Peach Frozen Yogurt in a Ninja Creami
All ingredients, measurements, and instructions are in the recipe card at the bottom of this post.
- To a blender add peaches, Greek yogurt and cane sugar. Blend until smooth then pour yogurt mixture to a Ninja Creami pint container making sure it doesn’t go over the Max Fill line. Top the container with a lid then place in the freezer on a level surface for at least 22 – 24 hours.
- Remove the lid then place the pint container into the ninja creami machine, press the “Lite Ice Cream” button and allow it to run through the cycle.
- Enjoy!
Tips and Tricks
- Peaches. Use frozen peaches that were thawed for at least 30 minutes or use fresh peaches. For the fresh peaches, it’s best if you peel the skin off using a vegetable peeler so your frozen yogurt will have a better texture. Use really ripe peaches because they will be sweeter and have a stronger peach flavor.
- Adjust sweetness. Depending on the sweetness of your peaches you might need to add more or less sweetener to your yogurt.
- Respin as needed. If your frozen yogurt isn’t smooth after the first spin mix in a splash of milk or a small scoop of yogurt then run it through the “RESPIN” cycle until it reaches your desired level of creaminess.
Frequently Asked Questions —
You might have used too much yogurt and/or not enough sugar. Frozen yogurt will naturally be a little bit icy because of the naturally occurring whey, but adding enough sweeter helps to keep the yogurt from becoming too icy when frozen.
Frozen yogurt is yogurt that has been blended with sugar and/or fruit and then frozen to make a creamy treat and ice cream is made with cream, milk, sugar and/or eggs. Frozen yogurt is lower in fat and sugar than ice cream.
