Why This Recipe is So Good

Passionfruit makes any drink taste so much better! This tropical fruit is floral, tart and tangy, and it has the most delicious smell. It smells and tastes like a tropical vacation, and its flavor works sooo well with other tropical fruits like lime, kiwi, mango, and pineapple.

After making this passionfruit syrup, use it to make this Lime Passionfruit Mocktail or Passion Fruit Iced Tea. It can sweeten green tea, lemonade, or sparkling water drinks.

How To Store/ Make Ahead

Store in an air-tight jar in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

Tips and Tricks

  • Fresh passionfruit: Use 6 – 12 fresh passionfruits. The size of passionfruit can vary, which will impact how much pulp each one contains. Look for larger, wrinkly passionfruits. Cut them in half, then scoop out the seeds. I like to use a spoon or a chopstick and stir the seeds to help release the juices. From here, you cook the fresh pulp with the syrup, then strain out the seeds once the syrup cools using a fine mesh strainer.
  • Can’t find fresh or frozen passionfruit? Use Passion fruit puree. This brand is 100% fruit with no added sugar. It comes in a squeezey package and it can be found in the fruit juice aisle.
