Why This Recipe is So Good

You’ll be making this dragon fruit mocktail all summer long because it’s so easy to make and delicious. Add fresh mint leaves for a mojito twist, strawberries or chunks of fresh dragon fruit.

This is a non-alcoholic drink so it’s perfect for the whole family. Sparkling water or club soda steps in for the alcohol. Sprite or lemon lime soda can also be used for a delicious flavor.

Dragon Fruit Mocktail Ingredients

  • Dragon fruit syrup – This is a homemade syrup made with water, sugar and frozen dragon fruit puree. You can find frozen dragon fruit in most grocery stores in the frozen fruit aisle. I love this brand because the dragon fruit is a gorgeous pinkish-purple color and it’s already preportioned. I used 1 packet for this recipe.
  • Lime juice – Freshly squeezed lime juice adds a zesty, tangy brightness to this delicious tropical mocktail. You’ll need about 1 large-ish lime per drink.
  • Sparkling water – Saratoga sparkling water is my favorite because it’s so fizzy, but any sparkling water or club soda will work here. Make sure it’s chilled first!

How to Make Dragon Fruit Mocktail

All ingredients, measurements, and instructions are in the recipe card at the bottom of this post.

Make Dragon fruit simple syrup: To a medium sauce pot add 1 cup cane sugar, 1 cup filtered water, 100 gram or ½ cup frozen dragon fruit puree. Heat on medium heat until the mixture reaches a gentle boil, this takes about 10 – 15 minutes. Whisk occasionally to break up the frozen dragon fruit puree. Remove from the heat then allow the syrup to cool for 30 minutes covered then strain. I like to leave a few seeds in the syrup for this mocktail.

Make mocktail: To a glass add dragon fruit syrup, lime juice and ice. Top off the sparkling water, stir and enjoy. Garnish with fresh mint or fresh dragon fruit.

Notes

How To Store/ Make Ahead

Dragon fruit syrup can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 weeks in an air-tight container. The syrup will thicken slightly as it cools.

Tips and Tricks

  • Sweetness: Adjust the sweetness of your mocktail according to your taste.
  • Sparkling water: Any type of sparkling water works here. I love Saratoga Sparkling Water because it stays fizzy for a long amount of time. Add sparkling water to each drink just before serving so the drink doesn’t go flat.
  • Make a dragon fruit mojito mocktail: Muddle fresh mint leaves in each glass, then add the dragon fruit syrup, lime juice, ice, and sparkling water.
  • Dragon fruit: I used frozen dragon fruit puree packets. If you can’t find dragon fruit in your grocery store, you can use dragon fruit or pitaya powder. Just mix it in with a simple syrup made with sugar and water.
