Frequently Asked Questions  —

How long does it take to make ice cream in the Ninja Creami?

It takes 5 minutes to mix all the ingredients together and 2 minutes to process in the machine after the ice cream base has been completely frozen.

Do you have to wait 24 hours to use the Ninja Creami?

It is recommended to wait the full 24 hours before processing for the best results. However, I have tried to make ice cream and sorbet after 22 hours and it worked out just fine.

Why is my Ninja Creami ice cream greasy?

You probably used too much heavy cream or mixed it too much. It’s important to use the right amount of cream and milk to give a smooth consistency, and if the cream is mixed too much it can turn into butter.

Can you refreeze ice cream from the Ninja Creami?

Yes! It retains its creaminess even after freezing. If you want to pass it through the Re-SPIN cycle after refreezing just make sure it has a level surface.

Notes

How To Store/ Make Ahead

  • Make ahead. You can make and freeze the ice cream base several days in advance. Then just pull it out whenever you want to blend.
  • Storing. I like to store any leftovers in these reusable freezer-safe containers. It can last in these airtight containers for several weeks.

Tips and Tricks

    • You can warm up the cream cheese to make it combine with the sugar better.
    • It’s really important to mix the cream cheese with the sugar before trying to mix it with the other ingredients. Otherwise, you’ll end up with cream cheese chunks in your ice cream, which isn’t what we want! You could also try heating up the cream cheese first then combining it with the sugar.
    • If your ice cream turns out crumbly after spinning the first time, then run it through the RE-SPIN cycle with a splash of cream or milk until it reaches your desired consistency.
